This still life (colored pencil on paper) is an exploration of texture, light, and symbolism. Featuring a collection of personally owned objects including a philodendron, an oriental ashtray, a raccoon skull, a fox skull, a singing bowl, and a few intricate sketchbooks. The juxtaposition of natural and man-made elements is meant to create a contrast emphasizing life, death, and time. Through this work, I intend to invite viewers to contemplate the interplay between life and mortality.
